• An increase in the speed limit from 25 to 30 will make walking and driving in our neighborhood more dangerous. Christopher’s Crossing, in our neighborhood, is narrower than adjoining neighborhoods. An increase in the speed limit further reduces safety margins for our children, pedestrians, our entire neighborhood, and increases the risk of an incursion into the houses and properties that are adjacent to Christopher’s Crossing.
• The change order to remove stop signs and restrict access to Christopher’s Crossing was never opened for public comment. Furthermore, at a cost of $170,000, the stop sign removal and restricted access is a poor use of our citizens’ tax dollars. I believe that the change order needs to be researched further to ensure that it was executed properly and with integrity. These funds should be frozen until a proper review is completed.
Please help us stop these absurd changes to our neighborhoods and allow us access to these new conveniences that our tax dollars and patronage built. Do not allow our neighborhoods to bear the brunt of these changes while giving conveniences to others. Please do not restrict our access to Christopher’s Crossing and please continue to allow left turns at this intersection.
Thank you for your time and consideration of this matter.
Sincerely,
Laurie Boyer
North Crossing
(I apologize for the extra comments. I was unable to remove them.)
