CDBG Annual Action Plan for GY 2023
I have reviewed the draft Annual Action Plan for the CDBG program and want to congratulate your staff and Urban Design Ventures on a job well done . As always, the meat of this plan is the recommendation for how the new allocation from HUD will be used. This year there are both “bricks and mortar “projects and services recommended for funding. I see there are subgrantees who I worked with many years ago and there are some “new faces” ( which is great ) . And there are some activities the City itself will undertake.
As I said the recommended funding is the meat of the plan but there is more in this document and it is worth reading . HUD gives all its grantees a format to follow and that can make the report a bit long. But I believe you will find the maps with demographic data to be informative. Page 14 to 18 is an outline summary of the Priority Needs and Goals in the broad areas the 5 -year Consolidated Plan covers – Housing. Homelessness, Other Special Needs, Community Development . Economic Development and Administration Planning and Management. It does not hurt to refresh yourself on what those are from time to time.
As for the process leading to this point, it is open and inclusive. It has been in place for years and served us well.
Again it appears that the CDBG Program has settled in well at the Department of Housing and Human Services and your staff and consultant are continuing the good work that CDBG has done for many years .
Thank you
