Linda Miller, property owner of 2064 Chamberlain Drive, Frederick, MD 21702
When I bought by property in 2019 I paid a substantial premium ($17,500) on the lot because of the "view". Since 2020, when I became aware of the proposed annexation of Winpenny Tell, I have spoken up in opposition to the annexation. I still am opposed to the annexation. Especially because a main access road to the proposed development has not been determined. Homeowners in Winpenny Tell should have the opportunity to vote whether they want Winpenny Drive to be used as the main access to the new development. If they vote against granting the use of Winpenny Drive, then the city and county need to find a different main point. This needs to happen before approving annexation. If no suitable access road can be agreed upon the annexation process should be halted. If at some point in the future the annexation is approved, I have a request regarding the middle of the three fields. In the current plans for the new development, homes/townhomes are to be built in a narrow strip (yellow on the plans) right up against my property and the property of my neighbors at 2066, 2062, and 2060 Chamberlain Drive. This would block our views of Gambrill Mountain. Please consider shifting the location of homes in the middle field to the back (western) edge of the field. This would at least keep some of our view of the mountain open. Please save my comments and include them in the Public Comments section of the annexation minutes.
